2016-08-20 Leif Segerstam ( født 2. marts 1944 i Vaasa, Finland) er en finlandssvensk dirigent, komponist, pianist og violinist. Han taler syv sprog, inklusiv japansk. Segerstam er uddannet ved Sibelius-akademiet i Helsingfors og Juilliard i New York Virksomhed. Han har blandt andet været Leif Segerstam is an award-winning conductor, composer, violinist and pianist with a prominent international career. He received diplomas from the Sibelius Academy in violin and conducting. He won the Maj Lind Piano Competition in 1962 and gave his first violin recital in 1963.

He studied violin, piano, composition and conducting at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki and then continued with a post-graduate course at the Juilliard School of Music in New York. Leif Segerstam is now Chief Conductor Emeritus of the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra in gratitude for his supremely successful period as the orchestra’s Chief Conductor for 12 years between 1995 and 2007.
